How to Make Shrimp and Grits
Ingredients:
- 1 cup grits
- 4 cups water
- 1 cup cheddar cheese
- 1 lb. peeled and deveined shrimp
- 4 slices bacon, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chives for garnish
Directions:
- Add the water to a large saucepan and bring it to a boil. Fold in the grits and continue to cook until creamy according to package instructions. Mix in the mozzarella cheese and season with salt & pepper.
- Step 3: Chop bacon, and cook in a skillet until crispy. Drain bacon on paper towels and set aside.
- Add the minced garlic and shrimp in with any bacon drippings leftover. Season with Cajun seasoning and cook until the shrimp are pink and cooked through.
- Serve creamy grits on a plate and place the shrimp with some crumbles strips of bacon over them. Top with a bit of chopped chives for an added flair!
