How to Make PayDay Candy Bars
Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted peanuts
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups crispy rice cereal
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Directions:
- Begin by lining your pan with parchment paper.
- Add peanuts and rice krispies to a large bowl.
- So in a saucepan over medium heat, combine peanut butter, corn syrup and sugar. Stir until melted and smooth.
- Drizzle the peanut butter mixture over cereal and peanuts, stir to coat evenly.
- Press the mixture into your baking dish and press down hard.
- Melt the chocolate chips with vegetable oil in a microwave-safe bowl and cooking for 30-second intervals, stirring between each stage until smooth.
- Melt the chocolate in a bain marie and pour on top of compacted filling.
- Chill for at least 2 hours or until firm.
- Cut into bars and enjoy!
How to Serve PayDay Candy Bars
They are a fun way to display food for parties/ get-togethers or they could even be used as an after school snack. I also cut this into small squares so it was a little bite- size treat. They are perfect paired with a glass of cold milk, or an extra hot cuppa.
