How to Make Easter Cookies

Ingredients:
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- Ingredients 1 cup salted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 3 cups confectioners’ sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- Various colors of food coloring
- Sprinkles (optional)
Directions:
- Instructions Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In another small bowl, mix the flour as well as baking soda and powder; aside.
- Beat together the butter and sugar in a large bowl until smooth. Add the egg, vanilla extract and almond extract; mix until blended. Sift and fold in the dry ingredients, bit by bit.
- Drop rounded teaspoonfuls of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets. Press with the bottom of a glass, dipped in sugar onto each ball to flatten.
- Cook for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden. Let cool on wire racks.
- For decoration, combine the confectioners’ sugar with water to form a glaze. Put into bowls and mix in food coloring. Ice the cookies with this icing or you can also sprinkle them!
