How to Make Chicken Pot Pie

Ingredients

  • cooked and diced chicken breast 1 lb
  • 1 cup carrots, diced
  • 1 cup peas
  • 1 cup potatoes, diced
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1 prepared pie crust

Directions

  1. How To Cook Them: Pre-heat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Heat your butter in a skillet, before placing it over medium heat. Mix the crushed onions and cook until soft.
  3. Add the diced carrots, peas and potatoes. Cook for a few minutes.
  4. Add the 1/2 cup of flour to mixture and mix well. Slowly add the chicken broth and milk, whisking continuously until it thickens.
  5. Then throw the cooked chicken, salt and pepper into pot with thyme. Mix well.
  6. Transfer the chicken and veggie mixture to a pie crust in a pie plate.
  7. Fit into the pie plate (or roll out and cover it with a second crust), seal he edges together, cut some slits in top dir faster steam exit.
