How to Make Chocolate Donuts
Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Optional powdered sugar for dusting
Directions:
- In a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) place the donut pan and grease with non-stick cooking spray.
- Mix together flour, cocoa powder and sugar in a mixing bowl plus baking soda and salt.
- In a different bowl combine the buttermilk, vegetable oil, egg and vanilla extract.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry and stir until just combined.
- Pour the batter into donut pan until it is 2/3 full.
- Let it bake for 10-12 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool slightly before removing from the pan.
- If you do, dust with powdered sugar and serve.
