- 2 cups all-purpose flour

- 1/2 cup cold, unsalted butter (diced)

- 6-8 tablespoons cold water
- 3 medium apples, chopped and peeled
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Vegetable oil for frying
Directions
- Mix flour and salt into a bowl. Add in the butter and mix until crumbly Stir in the sugar. Add cold water, a little at time until the dough comes together. Cover it in plastic and let stand for 30 minutes.
- Combine the cubed apples, brown sugar and cinnamon in another bowl.
- Method — Prepare and cut the pastry into circles. Lay a small spoonful of the apple filling in the middle, pull one side over and pinch shut.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet. Deep fry the pies until golden brown on both sides.
